Building UIVault – A Modern React UI Component Library & CLI Tool

1. The Philosophy: Copy-Paste over Heavy NPM Bundles
Modern frontend development has shifted heavily away from bloated, opinionated UI packages that lock you into rigid styling abstractions. Following shadcn's pioneer ethos, UIVault gives developers full source ownership.
Components are modular, styled with Tailwind CSS, and powered by Framer Motion, ready to be dropped straight into any Next.js or React repository.
2. Engineering the CLI Experience
A library is only as good as its distribution ergonomics. We built an npx CLI that allows developers to run `npx uivault add [component]` and immediately have type-safe components inserted with automatic dependency checks.
Handling cross-platform file paths on Windows and Unix while preserving custom Tailwind themes was one of the most rewarding challenges of this project.
“Great developer tools get out of your way and make building delightful.”
3. What's Next for UIVault
We are expanding the registry with dynamic charting widgets, interactive particle canvases, and accessible drawer primitives with 60 FPS motion damping.
